Reminiscent of cherry pipe tobacco, blackberry, tar and wet leather on the nose, the 2019 Merlot exudes flavors of star anise, currant, dried cranberry, smoked cedar & blueberry pie all wrapped in firm approachable tannins.

The impressive result of our award winning 2019 Petit Manseng, was the inspiration for exploring the possibility of creating a Reserve caliber product with a portion of the wine.  The varietal is known for expressing bright, often tart acidity and this Petit Manseng possessed a healthy depth of tropical fruit notes, which offered a sturdy foundation for extended the aging of the wine in used & neutral oak barrels.  Minimal stirring of the barrels during the additional 15 months in oak allowed the wine to soften, smooth the textures, and let the impressive flavors that already existed coalesce to fine tune its profile. 

Indicative of the cooler temperatures from the 2020 vintage, this wine is medium bodied with moderate tannins & nuanced notes of tart cherry, boysenberry, gravel, anise, pine needles & dry earthy tones.

Primarily sourced from Blocks 4 & 5 of our Greenhill vineyard, our 2020 Petit Verdot opens with notes of violet, sage, hazelnut, and toasted marshmallow.  Flavors of pomegranate and blackberry are prominently displayed on the palate along with the wine’s tannic structure on a lengthy finish twined with bright acidity.

Grown in Blocks 1 & 4 of the Greenhill Vineyard site and aged for 8 months in French oak, the 2021 Chardonnay Reserve opens with buttered popcorn and grilled nectarines, leading to a rich and satisfying mouthfeel of lemon curd, ripe pear, toasted hazelnuts and mascarpone cheese. 

Nebbiolo has (finally) returned to Greenhill with the 2021 vintage! As a naturally tannic varietal, this Nebbiolo was made with the intention of keeping the fruit as forward and bright as possible. To meet this goal the wine as aged for only 10 months in new and used French oak, resulting in extremely youthful and engaging expression of the varietal. A welcoming nose of fresh strawberries, cherry pipe tobacco, red licorice and rose petal is followed by maraschino cherry, leather, and strong tannins on the palate. Should age beautifully over the next 5+ years. 

This rustic Petit Verdot displays aromas of violet, lavender, anise, & roasted coffee bean. Tart plum, bramble fruit and Mexican chocolate are highlighted on the palate’s sturdy tannic structure balanced by a touch of acidity on the finish.  

A cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsaut, Pinotage was created in 1925 by at the University of Stellenbosch, in South Africa. Sourced from Horton Vineyards, we aged our first vintage of the varietal for 10 months in New & used French oak. Light bodied, soft, and approachable, the wine opens with notes of plum, sweet tobacco, tart blueberry, dried fig & straw. The palate expressed red fruits and a touch of spice that flows into subtle tannins and balanced acidity on the finish.   

Aged in 50% stainless and 50% neutral French barrels, our latest vintage of Viognier opens with clover honey and mandarin followed by lychee and dried pineapple on the palate.

From both of our vineyard sites, our new vintage of Chenin opens with notes of lemon verbena, persimmon, kaffir lime, pickled ginger, followed by flavors of tangerine, pear, & hints of vanilla crème brûlée on a weighted, but clean palate.
